Gitta Dickson

Gitta Studied at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art & Design and subsequently with Brian Graham
(now exhibiting at the Hart Gallery) and Peter Joyce.

Her paintings portray a modern approach to landscape interpretation, evolving in the course of their production.
Sometimes the paintings only retain a fraction of the original drawing, leaving a fresh perspective,
concentrated atmosphere and a sense of place.

The Dorset landscape has a great influence on her paintings. Ancient landscapes and architecture are a source
of endless inspiration for her work.

Gitta uses various supports for the bases of her paintings. She enjoys creating texture, painting mostly in
acrylic with the use of charcoal as a means of translating her work into a two dimensional form.

Gitta, as well as showing during successive Hampshire Art weeks and undertaking commissions,
has had successful exhibitions at the following Galleries:

The Mall, London

Bettles, Ringwood

Maltby Contemporary Art, Winchester

The Durngate, Dorchester

The Beatrice Royal, Southampton

The Atrium, Bournemouth

The Redhouse Museum, Christchurch

The Mill House, Lyme Regis

Merriscourt, Sarsden, Oxfordshire, and

The National Trust property, Mompesson House, Salisbury.

Whilst exhibiting at Salisbury Hospital she was awarded ‘Best Picture’

She was also a founder member of the Art Group “Room 10”.

Her work continues to evolve and win acclaim.
