Sales to the Public from the Diss Rotary Gallery  

Terms & Conditions

Potential purchasers are encouraged to make their initial selection by viewing website jpeg files and communicating their
selection (by referring to picture number) by e-mail to Mr Laurence Thompson andrewd@andrewickson.co.uk

Where required, viewing of the pictures can be arranged in Diss, Norfolk , UK by prior appointment

On application, a picture may be reserved for up to 5 days; for longer periods, a non-returnable deposit of 10% of the sales 
price will required to secure the reservation

Following viewing and purchase, the principle of ‘caveat emptor’ applies and there is no right of rejection or return

We guarantee that Rotary has the legal right to sell the pictures and provenance will be supplied

The purchaser becomes the owner of the painting when Rotary receives the cleared funds

The purchaser will be provided an official receipt reflecting transfer of ownership to the purchaser and a certificate confirming 
the provenance of the work

The purchaser is responsible for the insurance of the work from the point of transfer of ownership

The purchaser will be responsible for collection, packaging and transportation unless alternative arrangements are made 
with Diss Rotary Club

The purchaser acquires the full copyright for the work and is entitled to have prints made and sold

By arrangement with the artist or original owners Rotary charities will receive 20% of the sale price of the works

Terms and Conditions of Storage & Sale

The agreement for Rotary to sell the paintings will be negotiated with the owner and is unlikely to be less than 3 months. 
Return of the paintings will be subject to two week’s notice.

Rotary will make every effort to promote the pictures to maximum advantage to encourage sales to the general public

Rotary will act as the artists’ sales agent receiving 20% commission on all completed sales

Diss Rotary Club undertakes to provide safe storage conditions where ambient conditions protect the works, are stored 
in secure premises that are dry, free from major variations in temperature and direct sunlight.

Every effort will be made to avoid any deterioration in the condition of the paintings while in the charge of Diss Rotary Club 

Paintings are stored at the owners’ risk 

Artists will provide indicative selling prices but authorise Rotary to secure sales based on an agreed minimum price

The paintings remain the exclusive property of the artist/owner until the purchase price is received in full from the buyer

Funds arising from the sale of a painting will be remitted to the original owner by the Rotary Club in 7 - 10 working days

Providing that the customer agreed selling price is paid in full, Rotary has full discretion to dispose of the pictures

Upon application to the Rotary Club, paintings will be returned to artists or the legal owners.  
The cost of transport and insurance will be the responsibility of the artist
